Chocolate Shot Cookies                        Jan Peterson

1/2 lb. butter                        1 cup oatmeal

1 cup powdered sugar                        2 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 cups flour                        Chocolate shot or jimmies

1/2 tsp. baking soda

 

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.  Add vanilla and oatmeal and mix.  Add flour and baking soda and mix well.  Form into 2 rolls about 2 inches in diameter.  Cover the outside with chocolate shot.  (At Christmas, use red and green shot mixed).  Wrap and chill thoroughly.  Slice 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick and bake on ungreased sheets in a 325 oven about 22 minutes.
