1/2 cup dates chopped                                                   1/2 cup prunes chopped

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour                                         3 cups bran cereal

1 cup boiling water                                                        1 cup raisins

1 1/2 tsp. baking soda                                                   1 cup buttermilk

3/4 cup honey                                                                2 bananas

1/3 cup oil                                                                      2 eggs

1/2 cup nuts chopped

 

In food processor, combine dates, prunes and 1 cup of flour.  Let stand 10 min.  In another bowl, combine remaining flour and baking soda.  In medium bowl, combine buttermilk, honey, bananas and eggs and walnuts.  Pour bran mixture and the banana mixture over the flour mixture.  Stir until moistened - do not over mix.  Mix all together and bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.
