Creamy Apple Crunch Bread                        Becky Grasso

Filling:

2 pkg. 3 oz. cream cheese                              2 Tbsp. sugar

1 egg                                                               1/2 cup milk

Bread:

1 pkg. Pillsbury Apple Cinnamon Quick Bread Mix

1/2 cup chopped peeled apple                        3/4 cup water

3 Tbsp. oil                                                       1 egg and 1 tsp. almond

Topping:

1/4 cup sliced almonds                                  

 

Blend all filling ingredients except apple.  Beat at medium until smooth.  Stir in apple.  Set aside.  Combine all bread ingredients.  Stir by hand.  Pour 1/2 batter into pan - carefully spoon cream cheese filling over batter.  Spoon remaining batter on top.  Sprinkle with almonds and bake at 350 in 9 x 5 greased pan 65 to 75 minutes.
