Souffle Sandwich Jeanette Isaacson
Remove crust from 16 slices bread (Roman meal ‑ Pepperidge Farm). Grease large 9 x 13" pan. Place 8 slices on bottom. Next a slice of ham, chicken, or turkey and then a slice of sharp cheese. Repeat for another layer. Cover with:
3 cups milk 6 eggs beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
Mix together, pour over bread, ham and cheese. Cover with foil. Refrigerate overnight. Just before placing in oven, pour 1/4 cup melted butter mixed with 1/2 bag potato chips crushed. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Let stand about 5 minutes to set before cutting.
