Blitz Torte                                                               Grandma Petersen (Lil)

1/4 cup butter                                                        1/2 cup sugar

4 egg yolks                                                            1/4 cup water

1 cup flour                                                              2 tsp. baking powder

 

Mix and pour into two greased 8 inch round tins.  Beat whites of the four eggs, add 3/4 cup sugar, nuts or coconut.  Bake 25 minutes at 375 degrees.  When cool place on one 8 inch cake plate with meringue facing down.  Spread lemon or custard filling over and top with other 8 inch cake, having meringue on top.
