Fanny Farmer Fudge                                               Sharon Benda

4 1/2 cup sugar                                                         1 ‑ 13 oz. canned milk

3 ‑ 6 oz. pkg. semi‑sweet chocolate pieces             1 lb. margerine

1 1/2 cup nuts chopped                                             3 teaspoons vanilla.

 

Blend sugar and milk.  Bring to hard boil over medium heat and boil for 10 minutes stirring constantly.  Remove from heat.  Fold in oleo and beat by hand 2 minutes.  Add chocolate chips and vanilla and let chips melt. Add nuts.  Beat with electric mixer for 10 to 15 minutes until thick.  Pour into 9 x 15" buttered pan.  Let stand overnight to set.
