Fudge #1                                                                   Jan Peterson

4 cups sugar                                                             1 can evaporated milk

4 squares bitter chocolate                                       2 T. white Karo syrup


Boil above ingredients, stirring often, until mixture reaches soft ball stage in cold water.  Remove from heat.  Add:

1 teaspoon vanilla                                                    1 Tablespoon butter



Let cool for approximately 30 minutes.  Beat until smooth, (add nuts if desired) and starts to turn dull.  Immediately pour into buttered 9 x 11 inch pan.  Cut into squares.  (Vi likes it with macadamia nuts).
