Hard Candy (Broken Glass)                                   Aunt Ann Isaacson

3 3/4 cup sugar

1 1/4 cup Karo light syrup

1 cup water

1 teaspoon flavoring oil (get from Druggist)

3 drops food coloring

Combine sugar, syrup and water in 4 quart saucepan.  Cook slowly to 300 degrees.  Take off stove.  Divide and add coloring and flavorings.  Have cookie sheet or cake pan 1/4" thick with Powdered sugar.  Mound on side.  Pour candy on it.  Let cool (about 5 to 10 minutes) until it starts to stiffen.  Cut in strips and then in pieces and drop into another bowl of powdered sugar.  Put candy in sifter to remove excess sugar.  Candy can get hard to cut (my mother used a poultry scissors to cut it).  Mix colors and flavors.
