Penuchi                                                                     Aunt Ethel (Johnson)

2 cups brown sugar                                                  1/2 cup evaporated milk

2 Tablespoons butter                                               1 teaspoon vanilla

1/8 teaspoon salt                                                      1 cup nuts

 

Cook sugar and milk until sugar is dissolved.  Continue to cook slowly stirring constantly until soft ball stage (236 F).  Add butter.  Cool.  Add flavoring, salt and nuts and beat until creamy.  Pour into greased pan.
