Caramel Layer Squares Susie Oertel
Combine and stir until
dough holds together:
1 pkg. German chocolate
cake mix 1/2 cup
evaporated milk
3/4 cup melted butter 1 cup chopped walnuts
Melt in double boiler:
1 pkg. (14 oz.) caramels 1/3 cup evaporated milk
Press 1/2 of dough in
greased pan and bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees.
Remove and sprinkle with 6 oz. chocolate chips. Spread caramel mix over chips and spread
rest of dough over caramel. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 ‑ 18 minutes. Use a large pan ‑ 13 x 8 1/2 x 1 1/2.
