Chocolate Shortbread Trees Racine Journal

1 cup powdered sugar 1 cup butter

2 cups flour cup unsweetened cocoa

1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cups white Vanilla chips

2 Tbsp. solid shortening Green sugar


Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter and powdered sugar until fluffy. Add flour, cocoa and vanilla. Divide dough in half. Form each half into a roll and flatten sides to form a long triangular roll. Refrigerate until ready to bake. Cut into 3/8 inch slices and bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 10-13 minutes or until firm to the touch.


Melt vanilla chips and shortening in microwave on medium heat until soft. Stir and continue to melt until smooth. Drizzle over triangles. While wet sprinkle with green sugar.
