Ginger Snaps                                          Aunt Agnes (O'Gorman)

3/4 cup oleo                                          1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup white sugar                                          1 egg

4 Tablespoons molasses                                          2 cups flour

1 teaspoon soda                                          1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon ginger                                          1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cloves

 

Cream shortening and sugar, beat in egg, molasses, flour and spices.  Roll in small ball and dip in sugar.  Bake 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven.  I like mine thin so I flatten them with a glass, greased and dipped in sugar.
