Danish Apple Dessert Aunt Bud Rowlands
2 cups fine dry bread crumbs 3/4 cup melted butter or margarine
1/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 jar (1 lb. 3 oz. ) applesauce (about 3 cups) 1 cup raspberry jam
1/2 cup whipping cream whipped
Lightly toast bread crumbs in oven. Mix with butter, sugar and cinnamon. Place layer of crumbs in bottom of 8 x 8 pan. Spread 1/2 of the applesauce over the crumbs. Top with another layer of crumbs, then spread on raspberry jam. Top jam layer with crumbs. Finally, spread remaining applesauce on the top with rest of crumbs. Chill several hours. To serve, cut in squares, Garnish with whipped cream. Serves 8 or 9.
