Slippery Jims (Pickles)                                                 Aunt Tillie Christensen

Peel large cukes that have turned yellow.  Cut in half and clean out seeds.  Salt down overnight.  Cook cukes until transparent in 3 cups of water, 1 cup vinegar and yellow food coloring.  Cut to size you want.

 

Boil 1 cup vinegar and 1 cup sugar with pickling spices to make the syrup.  Put in clean sterilized jars.  Pour over hot syrup and seal.
