Swedish Kringle                                                           Angie Isaacson

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon almond extract

1/2 lb. butter

3 eggs.

1 cup plus 1 Tablespoon water

Mix as for pie crust (1 cup flour, 1/4 lb. butter and 1 Tablespoon water).  Pat into two long strips three inches wide on cookie sheet (ungreased).  Bring 1 cup water and 1/4 lb. butter to a boil.  Take pan off heat and add 1 cup flour and stir until smooth.  Add almond extracts.  Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each egg.  Spread over first mixture.  Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.  Frost while warm with 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 Tablespoon milk and almond ext
