Onion Rings                                                           Hillery Isaacson

1 cup flour                                                             1 egg slightly beaten

1 cup milk                                                              1 Tablespoon liquid shortening

Beat all together with rotary beater until smooth.  Separate onions into rings.  Dip in beaten egg and fry in deep fat for 2 to 5 minutes on both sides.  I use large deep fry pan.  This thick batter is good on other vegetables, too.
