Red Cabbage                        Grandma Lil Petersen

1 head red cabbage, sliced                        1 tsp salt.

1/4 cup vinegar (cider)                        1/4 cup butter or oleo

1/4 cup sugar

 

Boil cabbage with salt until partially done.  Drain well.  Add other ingredients and simmer for several hours.  The longer it simmers, the better it is.  Grandpa liked this warmed over ‑ he said the more it was warmed over, the better it was.
