Top of Stove Au Gratins                        Jan Peterson

6 potatoes                        1/2 stick butter

1/4 cup chopped onion                        salt/pepper

2 cups milk                        3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese

2 Tbsp. Flour

 

 Peel and cube potatoes as you would for au gratin.  Stir-fry in non-stick frying pan with butter, onion, salt and pepper until potatoes begin to brown.  Add enough milk to almost cover the potatoes.  Simmer until milk cooks down and mixture begins to thicken.  Add flour and cook another 5 minutes.  Add grated cheese and stir until cheese is melted.
