Fruit Torte Dessert                        Jan Peterson


Grease 9 x 13 cake pan.  Arrange apple slices on or whatever fruit you prefer.  Add 1 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar over fruit.  If you're using rhubarb or cherries, increase sugar to 1 1/2 cups.  Crumble box of white or yellow cake mix over fruit and pour 2 Tbsp. melted butter over top.  Bake cake according to time on mix or 40 minutes at 350 degrees.  One cup coconut and 1 cup ground nuts may be added to top before baking if desired.  You can also use same amounts and place 3/4 cake mix in the pan first, then fruit topped with sugar and rest of cake mix and melted butter.  Recipe I received from Aves Chier.  Very easy dessert to make.
