Strawberry Torte                        Carolyn McCabe - May 2000

 

Butter a 13 ½" by 9" x 2" oblong pan.  Crush 2 pkgs. Nabisco sugar wafers and press on to the bottom of pan.

 

Mix ½ cup butter at room temperature and 3/4 cup powdered sugar.  Add 2 eggs - one at a time.  Beat until smooth.  Spread over crumbs.  Place in refrigerator overnight.  Slice berries (about 3 cups strawberries) add sugar and let set overnight.  Strain.  Beat ½ pint whipping cream and fold Spread over the torte.  Crush 1 pkg. Nabisco wafers and put on top.
