Banana Bread-1 Sharon

Sift Together:
2 cups sifted flour 1 tsp.
baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt
Cream:
1/2 cup shortening, gradually add 1 cup
sugar, creaming well. Blend in 2 eggs,
one at a time. Beat well. Add a cup of mashed banana - mix well. Blend in sifted dry ingredients. Fold in 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3" pan. Push batter into corners of pan leaving
center slightly hollowed. For well
rounded loaf, allow to stand 20 minutes before baking. Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) 60 to 70
minutes. Cool thoroughly before
slicing.
