Chocolate Almond Spritz

1 cup powdered sugar 1 cup margarine
1 egg 1 tsp. almond extract
2 1/2 cup flour 1/2 tsp. Salt
Heat oven to 400
degrees. In large bowl, beat powdered
sugar and margarine until light and fluffy.
Add egg and almond flavor. Blend
well. Lightly spoon flour into
measuring cup. Level off. Stir in flour & salt. Mix well.
Divide into 6 sections. Pat into
pans in strips with floured hands. Bake
8 - 10 minutes until set, not brown.
(Sophie says lightly browned).
While warm cut into cookies. Let
cool slightly and then remove. Cool
completely. Dip into glaze. Store between layers of waxed paper.
Glaze
8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
cut into pieces
2 Tablespoons shortening
(melt together)
