Chocolate Dipped Christmas
Trees (Cookie Press)
4 1/3 cups flour 1 ½ cups butter or
margarine softened
1 cup sugar ½ cup sour cream
2 egg yolks ½ tsp. almond extract
1/4 tsp. salt Chocolate glaze
Measure all ingredients
except glaze and mix with mixer at low speed; beat until just mixed. Increase speed to medium; beat 2
minutes. Press through Christmas-tree
plate on cookie press about ½ inch apart.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 375 until lightly browned around edge.
Melted chocolate chips shortening
Keep glaze warm while
dipping cookies. With fork, gently
lower one cookie at a time, flat-side down into glaze, allowing chocolate
mixture to coat back and about 1/8" up sides of each cookie. Carefully lift cookie out and allow excess
glaze to drain off. Place cookies,
chocolate side up on wire racks to harden.
Store in tightly covered contained up to 2 weeks. Makes about 10 dozen.
