Frosted Pecan Dainties Grandma Petersen (Lil)
1 cup butter 1/3
cup powdered sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt 2 cups
sifted flour
Cream butter, sugar and
salt. Add flour. Blend well.
Shape into 2 rolls 1 1/2" in diameter. Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Cut into 1/4" slices.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes
(until lightly browned). Frost with
Browned Butter Frosting.
Frosting
2 Tablespoons butter 1 1/2
cup powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon hot water Cream
Brown butter in a
saucepan. (Watch carefully). Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and hot water. Stir until smooth. Add
enough cream to make frosting of spreading consistency. Add
more cream if frosting
thickens. Frost cookies. Sprinkle with chopped pecans or other
colored sugars or decorations. Makes 7
