Snicker Bars                                                 Joyce Schwarm

1/3 c. butter                                                   ½ cup sugar

1 cup flour                                                     ¼ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. baking soda

Mix sugar and butter together.  Mix flour, salt and soda and put in butter mixture and mix until crumbly.  Save ½ cup crumbs for topping.  Place the remaining crumbs in bottom of 9 x 9 x 2” pan.  Bake in 350° oven for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Filling

4 snicker bars or 10 fun size bars              2 Tbsp. milk

2 Tbsp. Butter                                               ½ cup coconut

Few drops of almond extract

Melt the bars with milk and butter over low heat.  Stir in coconut and almond flavoring.  Spread over baked crust.  Bake 12 minutes with the ½ remaining crumbs sprinkled on top or until lightly browned.  Cool and cut into bars.
