Spritz with Hershey Bars Jan Peterson
1 cup shortening (half
butter) 3/4 cup
sugar
1 egg yolk 2 cups flour (or less)
Dash of salt 1/4 teaspoon baking
powder
1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 tsp. orange peel
(optional)
Mix well. Put dough into cookie press and make 5
strips on cookie sheet. Top with
squares of Hershey bars evenly. Press
another layer of dough over this. Cut
slightly with knife between each piece of chocolate. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. For the holidays these can be sprinkled with red or green sugar
before baking.
