Toffee Squares Jeannette Isaacson
1 cup butter 1 cup brown sugar packed
2 cups flour 1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla 1 ‑ 8 oz. bar milk
chocolate
1 cup chopped nuts
Cream butter, add brown
sugar and cream until light and fluffy.
Add beaten egg yolk, vanilla and flour.
Spread thinly on cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 ‑ 20 minutes. Put squares of Hershey bars on hot mixture. When melted, spread with spatula and
sprinkle with nuts. Cut while warm. This recipe is a favorite of everyone ‑
anytime of year.
