Dumplings Grandma
Petersen (Lil)
1/2 cup milk 1
teaspoon butter
pinch of salt 4 Tablespoons flour
1 egg
Boil milk, butter and salt. Remove from flame and add flour, beating
well. Let rest one minute, then beat in
egg (and baking powder, if desired). Using
two spoons, one to dip first in boiling water and then to cut dough and the
other as a "pusher," drop dumplings into rapidly boiling salted water
or broth. Cook 5 minutes.
