Schaum Torte Mary Isaacson
6 Egg Whites 1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups sugar
Beat egg whites
until stiff. Add sugar one
tablespoonful at a time. Beat about 30
minutes in all on medium speed. Add -
1 Tbsp. vinegar 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Beat 10 minutes at high speed. Spread in 9 x 13 buttered pan. Bake 1 hour at 275. Cool.
Whip 2 cups whipping cream.
Drain 1 - 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple. Press out excess juice.
Spread 1/2 whipping cream on cake, then pineapple, then remainder of
cream and 1 cup flaked coconut.
Refrigerate over night. Spread
toasted almonds on top when ready to serve.
